Redmi started Y series last year with Redmi Y1 and now Redmi Y2 is the successor of last year’s Redmi Y1. It comes in two variants 6GB Ram with 64GB of internal memory and another one with 32GB of internal memory with 3GB of Ram. It is aggressively priced at Rs 9999 for 32GB variant and Rs 12999 for a 64GB variant. It is available in Gray, Gold, Rose Gold colors.

Redmi Y2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor clocked at 2 GHz frequency with Adreno 505 GPU, which is pretty good at the price range. It has 5.99 inches HD+ screen with resolution (720 x 1440) pixels. The display comes with an aspect ratio of 18:9 with pixel density 269 PPI. Screen resolution is not up to the mark but it is decent.
It has a dual vertical area camera setup like iPhone X with 12 MP primary sensors and 5 MP secondary sensor. it also has 16 MP AI-powered selfie camera on the front with face unlock capabilities. Redmi Y2 has LED flash on the front as well as on the back to produce clear pictures in dark.
It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo version and customized MIUI 9.5 out of the box. It still has the headphone jack and supports micro USB 2.0 and 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v4.2, and GPS. It has all the necessary sensors like ambient light sensor, fingerprint scanner, digital compass, and accelerometer.
It comes with 3080 mAh battery which can deliver power for whole one day. Redmi Y2 would be another good option under 10,000 price range. It will compete with other real me, Oppo and Vivo smartphones in the same price range.
